A Las Vegas Elopement

When I first met Emy it was through an online Facebook group. I was east coast based and she was serving in the armed forces in Alabama. We chatted for a bit and she told me all about her plans for a Las Vegas elopement.

When she officially picked me as her photographer I booked my plane ticket and hotel immediately. I was SO excited for this wedding and to be able to let my creative juices fly.

I flew in to Vegas on a Thursday morning and we decided on a true “ Vegas Elopement” style vibe for their session that night. We drove to Fremont Street, and that is an experience itself. We walked around a bit and saw the usual Vegas goers along with a few special performances from street artists. They let me take creative lead and the images are just well….they speak for themselves.

The day of Emy and Kyle’s wedding was perfection. We drove over for some getting ready shots in the absolute cutest AirBnb before heading to an almond grove. The day was filled with love, laughter and happy ever after.

Please reach out if you’re interested in having your destination wedding or elopement documented!

A Birthday for Oliver

I was contracted for this birth by Rebecca who happens to be Sierra’s mom. She wanted to be able to gift her daughter something truly unique and I do believe she succeeded. Sierra is a mom who suffered an unimaginable loss with her first son, and was, understandably incredibly scared for this birth. I remained in contact with Rebecca as Sierra started a LONG induction process. I arrived two days later around 8 in the morning and settled in. Not long after I got there, Sierra was feeling some intense contractions so she decided to go walk the halls with her mom. I was able to capture some raw powerful laboring shots. A few hours go by and not much progress had been made so Sierra agreed to have her water broken. It didn’t take long for things to intensify in a hurry. We did some more walking and Sierra leaned on her husband and mom for support. This birth space was filled with so much love and peace. It was an honor to be involved. Sierra opted for an epidural and took a much needed nap as I happily edited galleries and chatted with her mom.

A few hours later and Sierra had a seizure and the room was quickly filled with doctors and nurses all racing to help her. As she came back around she started to feel pressure and the urge to push and she began to cry. Watching Sierra muster the strength to push through her grief and sadness to deliver her son is something I’ll never forget. When Oliver was placed on her chest and she cried “ he’s alive” I lost it.

This birth was unique in so many ways, but most importantly it was one of strength, resilience and love. Wishing a lifetime of happiness to this new family.

Dominican Republic: Krista+Luis

Picture this, a warm tropical breeze is blowing through the palm trees. You are surrounded by your closest family and friends and looking into the eyes of the one you love most in life. This is exactly what happened for Krista and Luis on their beautiful wedding day in March.

We landed in Punta Cana and I first felt that warm salty breeze and knew we were in paradise. The resort of Margartitaville in Cap Cana was more than anyone could have asked for. We spent the day in the amazing pool and sipping drinks while getting to know everyone. That night the resort provided a welcome party and Krista provided some amazing and thoughtful welcome bags for the guests. She was just the absolute sweetest.

The following day was wedding day and the weather was AMAZING. Krista and Luis got ready in separate parts of the resort and were both equally excited and nervous. I headed over to Luis and we got some super cool getting ready shots of him while he was taking one last look at his vows. I then headed over to Krista who had an amazing bride squad on her side. She laughed and shed a tear or two before we headed over to the ceremony sight in a golf cart. This wasn’t your typical golf cart ride…..but it was full of laughs and adventure.

As soon as Luis saw Krista walking down the aisle his face lit up. Krista could barely hold back her emotions as she walked down to meet him. They had written and recited their own vows and it was the absolute sweetest thing to witness.

I had some time to spend with the newly married couple on the beach at sunset and boy oh boy it did NOT disappoint. I firmly believe that everyone should have some time just the two of you on your wedding day for portraits. These two were just spectacular.

The reception these two put on was a PARTY and lots of fun for all involved. I am so grateful that these two chose me to help document the most important day of their lives. I made some new friends and have memories to last a lifetime. Congratulations again to Krista and Luis.
